In 2024, Romanian natural gas producer Romgaz recorded a consolidated net profit of approximately 645 million euros, reflecting a 14.48% increase (about 82 million euros) compared to the previous year. This growth was largely driven by the removal of the solidarity contribution, which had amounted to nearly 338 million euros in the fourth quarter of 2023.

The company’s natural gas production for 2024 reached an estimated 4,962.7 million cubic meters, marking a 3.64% increase (174.2 million cubic meters) from the previous year.

Total revenues for the year stood at around 1.7 billion euros, reflecting an 11.1% decline. This decrease was primarily due to a 15.23% drop in revenues from natural gas sales, which fell to approximately 1.3 billion euros from 1.5 billion euros in 2023, mainly due to lower prices despite a 1.03% increase in sales volume. Revenues from electricity sales also declined, reaching around 75 million euros compared to 82 million euros the previous year.

In contrast, revenues from storage services rose by 3.31%, reaching nearly 115 million euros in 2024, up from about 111 million euros in 2023. This increase was driven by higher consolidated revenues from capacity booking and extraction services.

Total expenditures rose by 8.75% (about 80 million euros), reaching approximately 980 million euros. Taxes and duties saw a significant increase of 22.1% (around 66 million euros) compared to the previous year.
