Romania: NPP Cernavoda’s overhaul of unit 2

On Sunday, 9 May, Romanian electricity producer Nuclearelectrica, the operator of the country’s sole nuclear power plant Cernavoda, announced that the plant’s 700 MW unit 2 entered planned maintenance.

During the planned outage, activities from the following programs will be carried out: preventive and corrective maintenance program, inspections program, mandatory testing program during planned outages and project changes implementation program.

NPP Cernavoda provides about 18 % of the national electricity consumption. It has two reactors with installed capacity of 700 MW each.
