If all these projects are completed, which is an unlikely scenario, Romania’s installed electricity generation capacity would double. Ivan reminded that the National Regulatory Authority for Energy (ANRE) recently approved the Electricity Transportation System Development Plan for the next 10 years, which includes investment in the amount of 1.4 billion euros.

A large part of these investments planned is located in southeastern Romania so that the electricity can be taken from the renewable energy plants, which are predominant in the area, and transported to the rest of the country.
