Rogozna Gold Resources Exceed Expectations with New Gradina Estimate

The Rogozna mining area in southern Serbia has recently reported a significant upgrade in gold resources, particularly at the Gradina deposit, which now contains over 37 tonnes of gold. This development enhances the overall viability of the Rogozna project, positioning it as one of the most promising undeveloped gold systems in the region.

Newly released resource data indicates that the Gradina deposit comprises approximately 12 million tonnes of ore, with an average gold grade of around 3 grams per tonne. This grade is indicative of deposits suitable for underground mining, allowing for efficient extraction methods such as long-hole open stoping. The mineralized structure also reveals a vertical density of nearly 100 kilograms of gold per vertical metre, underscoring its technical and economic appeal at this stage of development.

The recent estimate from Gradina significantly contributes to the broader resource base of Rogozna. Total gold-equivalent resources across Rogozna’s primary deposits—including Shanac, Medenovac, Copper Canyon, and Gradina—now total approximately 267 tonnes. This represents a substantial increase from previous assessments and highlights the district’s potential, suggesting earlier estimates may have undervalued the overall mineral endowment.

Exploration activities in the area remain vigorous, with ongoing drilling programs aimed at testing extensions of known mineralization both laterally and at depth. These efforts particularly focus on a “gap zone” between established resource blocks at Gradina. The active deployment of multiple drill rigs signals a strong commitment to advancing exploration and improving resource confidence while targeting potential expansions along an interpreted mineralized corridor.

In addition to gold, Rogozna is recognized as a polymetallic system with identified resources of copper, silver, lead, and zinc across the broader project area. This multi-metal profile provides flexibility for future development strategies, allowing for adaptability in mine planning and processing depending on market conditions.

Strategically, the upgrade in Gradina’s resources reinforces Serbia’s emerging status as a viable destination for mid-to-large scale precious-metal projects. The combination of favorable grade, tonnage, and expansion potential positions Rogozna for further economic evaluations, including updated scoping and pre-feasibility assessments once drilling and resource delineation reach advanced stages.

The confirmation that Gradina contains significantly more gold than previously estimated reflects a trend at Rogozna: systematic exploration continues to unlock value at a pace that exceeds expectations. As drilling progresses and resource confidence increases, focus will likely shift towards development sequencing, capital requirements, and long-term production capabilities.
