The facility, operated by the subsidiary Hidroelektrane na Drini under the power utility ERS, recorded an electricity generation of 143.98 GWh in February 2026. This figure represents an 11% decrease from January’s output of 161.69 GWh, although it marks a significant increase compared to February 2025, when production was only 63.97 GWh.
In the broader context of annual performance, HPP Višegrad produced a total of 781.8 GWh throughout 2025, reflecting an increase from 733 GWh in 2024. As of now, the cumulative electricity generation for 2026 has reached 306.68 GWh, indicating a steady start to the year despite the recent monthly decline.
Commissioned in 1989, HPP Višegrad boasts a power output capacity of 315 MW, distributed across three turbines each rated at 105 MW. Historically, the plant has maintained an average annual generation of approximately 1,010 GWh. Its peak production occurred in 2010, with a remarkable output of 1,283.05 GWh, underscoring its operational significance within the region’s energy landscape.
