GaspromNeft takes over Macedonian Okta oil refinery

The majority owner of Serbian Oil Company NIS, GapromNeft is interested especially in Hellenic Petroleum and its refineries in Thessaloniki and Skopje.

NIS plans to enter two more markets in SEE region this year and become the leading oil factory in this part of Europe.

Regional media speculations are reporting that GazpromNeft might be interested in Macedonia oil refinery Okta.

Macedonian refinery is interesting because of its location and constructed oil pipeline, according to well-informed sources. Factory is being considered to cover Bulgarian market with production in Thessaloniki refinery and to cover regional market with Okta.
