ContourGlobal has successfully arranged a financing package amounting to €43.8 million from Eurobank, aimed at bolstering its recent acquisition of solar energy assets in Greece. This refinancing initiative primarily addresses the costs associated with the acquisition of a significant solar portfolio, finalized just months prior.

The acquired portfolio comprises 26 solar power plants that collectively deliver an installed capacity of 36.7 MW. These facilities are strategically located across various regions in Greece, notably in the Peloponnese and northern areas. The assets have been organized through seven special purpose vehicles (SPVs), following a restructuring process that streamlined the financial arrangements.

Prior to this refinancing, the project operated under a complex financing structure involving multiple loans at both the asset and entity levels. The new arrangement facilitated by Eurobank consolidates these into a more efficient lending framework, significantly reducing the number of financial facilities required and enhancing overall manageability.

The solar plants, which began operations between 2011 and 2022, benefit from regulated support mechanisms such as feed-in tariffs and feed-in premiums. These schemes provide stable revenue streams, effectively mitigating exposure to fluctuations in wholesale electricity prices.

This acquisition marks ContourGlobal’s entry into the Greek renewable energy sector, which occurred in late 2025 and also included battery storage assets. This strategic move underscores the company’s commitment to expanding its footprint within Greece’s clean energy landscape.
