Bulgarian Ministry of Economy said that German company Profine Energy is interested to invest more than 1 billion euros in solar energy projects in Bulgaria, which would be the largest one-time investment in the country up to date.
Caretaker Minister of Economy Nikola Stoyanov said after the meeting with the company’s management that it is in a very advanced stage of making a decision to invest in solar projects in northwestern part of the country. According to him, Profine Energy is preparing to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government and will establish a local subsidiary which will develop and operate future power plants.
Profine Energy was established last month, as a joint venture of two German companies – Profine Group and Wirth Group for the purpose of investing in renewable energy projects.
