In a significant development for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s energy landscape, Aluminij Industries, a subsidiary of the MT Abraham Group, has finalized a long-term liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply agreement with Aktor LNG USA. This contract is poised to bolster the industrial energy supply, particularly benefiting the aluminium production sector in Mostar.
The agreement outlines annual deliveries of approximately 0.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas, commencing in 2030. The structure of the deal spans 20 years, with an anticipated total value of around €3 billion. This long-term commitment reflects a strategic move to enhance energy stability for industrial operations in the region.
In conjunction with the LNG supply, plans are underway to construct a gas-fired power plant within the Aluminij Industries facility. This initiative aims to further secure a reliable energy supply, addressing the growing demand for energy in industrial processes and contributing to the modernization of infrastructure.
This agreement is part of a broader strategy focused on improving energy security in Bosnia and Herzegovina. By utilizing natural gas as a transitional fuel, the country aims to modernize its industrial framework while ensuring a stable energy supply for future growth.
