Albania: OSHEE reports 5% decrease in electricity distribution losses in 2024

The Albanian electricity distribution system operator, OSHEE, has announced a notable reduction in losses within its distribution network. In the first nine months of 2024, OSHEE recorded losses of 1,055,363 MWh, representing a 5% decrease compared to the same period last year. This reduction translates to 55,300 MWh less in losses.

The total electricity fed into the network during this timeframe was 5,626,717 MWh. Financially, OSHEE lost €5.6 million less than in the previous year, reflecting improved efficiency. The percentage of electricity losses in the distribution network also dropped to 17.23%, down from 18.76% during the same period last year.
