Slovenian household electricity and natural gas prices rose in the second quarter of 2026, while electricity costs for industrial consumers fell. Households paid an average €0.215/kWh for electricity and €0.087/kWh for natural gas. The quarterly movement showed electricity up and gas up as well.
Household tariff changes in the second quarter
Electricity prices increased by 3% compared with the first quarter. Household natural gas prices rose by 1% over the same period. These changes were reflected in the average unit prices paid by residential customers.
Industrial electricity and gas price levels
For industrial consumers, electricity averaged €0.139/kWh excluding VAT. That level represented a 7% decline from the previous quarter. Industrial natural gas prices were unchanged at €0.055/kWh excluding VAT.
Comparison with EU averages in the second half of 2025
In the second half of 2025, household natural gas prices in Slovenia were about 71% of the EU-27 average, while non-household gas prices were around 95%. For electricity, household prices were roughly 73% of the EU-27 average. Prices paid by medium-sized non-household consumers were equivalent to about 82% of the European average.
Diverging trends between residential and business electricity costs
The data indicate a widening gap between household and industrial electricity trends. Residential customers saw modest increases while prices for business consumers eased. This pattern was consistent with the quarter-on-quarter direction shown for each group.
