Electricity spot prices rose sharply on Monday, May 22, compared to the previous day in all European markets. However, most countries remained below the 100 euros per MWh threshold, except Italy (108.4 euros per MWh) and Poland (116.2 euros per MWh).
This growth was over 1,200% in Finland and Norway, which recorded an average price of 0.88 euros per MWh on Sunday. However, despite this, these markets recorded the lowest prices on the continent on Monday – around 23 euros per MWh and 35 euros per MWh, respectively.
In Southeast Europe, day-ahead prices on Monday range from 83.93 euros per MWh in Serbia to 99.43 euros per MWh in Greece. In other countries of the region, the price is around 97 euros per MWh.
On Sunday, the day-ahead price in SEE was between 28 and 30 euros per MWh, except in Greece, which recorded 61.2 euros per MWh.
