Romanian natural gas producer Romgaz has agreed to increase the value of its contract with Spain’s struggling company Duro Felguera by an additional 2 million euros. These funds will be directed to General Electric, a subcontractor involved in the construction of the 430 MW gas-fired unit at TPP Iernut.

Originally scheduled for completion five years ago, the 270 million euro project has experienced significant delays. Romgaz now aims to have the plant operational by mid-2025.

Romgaz has successfully finalized tripartite agreements with Duro Felguera and General Electric. These agreements are expected to expedite the remaining work, which constitutes approximately 3% of the total project.
