Manufacturer of cooling systems for the automotive industry, RAAL Bistrita, commissioned a 7.4 MW solar power plant. SPP was built by the Swiss nextE Group.
The solar park was co-financed with a 3.15-million-euro loan offered by ProCredit Bank Romania.
RAAL has signed a 25-year agreement to take over 80% of electricity produced by the new solar facility.
NextE Group is the subsidiary of the Swiss private technology and services company Connect44 Group and operates as an independent power producer.
The construction of the solar power plant was carried out on the land owned by RAAL Bistritene company, at Prundu Bargaului, which is also the main consumer of electricity within the project.
The plant will operate on a lease-and-operate system. Electricity production is estimated at 7,200 MWh per year, and around 80% of the electricity produced will be provided for domestic consumption, while the surplus energy will be injected into the national grid.
The production will offset approximately 1,043 tons of CO2 emissions annually.
