In February 2025, the volume of electricity traded on North Macedonia’s day-ahead electricity exchange reached 114,664.8 MWh, reflecting a significant 73 percent increase compared to 66,302.8 MWh recorded in the same month last year. However, the traded volume was 11.9 percent lower than in the previous month.
Electricity market operator MEMO reported that the average market-clearing price for February stood at 157.94 euros per MWh, with a daily average trading volume of 4,095 MWh.
North Macedonia’s electricity exchange was established in May 2023 and has since played a key role in the country’s electricity market.
