The Hungarian Ministry of Energy has announced the launch of tenders for hydrocarbon concessions in eight areas, aiming to increase domestic hydrocarbon production and reduce the country’s reliance on energy imports.
The tender process invites applications for 20-year concessions in the following regions: Buzsak, Csongrad, Hatvan, Kalocsa, Kiskoros, Kiskunhalas, Tab, and Tamasi. Interested parties have until mid-January 2025 to submit their applications.
This marks the first hydrocarbon concession tenders in Hungary in five years, reflecting a renewed effort to enhance energy security and domestic production capacity.
