Electricity and natural gas consumption in Hungary dropped in the six-month winter period until mid-April as the result of mild temperatures, Government measures and more mindful consumer behaviour, the Hungarian Ministry of Energy announced.
Gas consumption in Hungary fell by 24.5% or 2 billion cubic meters in this period, while electricity consumption dropped by 7.5% or 1.9 TWh.
Households consumed 750 million cubic meters less natural gas in the past six months, amounting to 2.5 billion cubic meters. Industrial gas consumption dropped by almost 1.25 billion cubic meters to 3.4 billion cubic meters.
The Ministry added that there are about 3.2 billion cubic meters of gas in storages in Hungary.
