According to a completed assessment carried out by RAAEY, Greek Regulatory Authority for Waste, Energy and Water, for the energy ministry, the Greek State stands to receive windfall gains from electricity suppliers totalling 258 million euros from August 2022 to the end of 2023.
Data from smaller supply businesses for the third quarter of 2023 is still pending, according to ministry sources. However, the sources consulted indicate that this issue, which will be remedied later, will not have an impact on the final total.
Power utility PPC, the leader in the retail energy market, is the primary beneficiary of a large portion of the electricity suppliers’ windfall gains of 258 million euros, which is incredibly close to an early estimate of 250 million euros.
