Gas supplier Bulgargaz proposed higher wholesale natural gas price for December 2023. The company said in a statement that the price should be 45.3 euros/ MWh, which is 7.9 % higher compared to the price for November (42 euros/MWh).
Bulgargaz said that in December there will be supplies from three sources – Azerbaijan under long-term contract and liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Greek traders DEPA and Mytilineos. In addition, natural gas production from the underground gas storage facility near Chiren is foreseen.
For December, the estimated costs for access and transmission through the Bulgaria-Greece interconnector total 1.4 billion euros for the natural gas volumes under the contract with the Azerbaijani company, which are included in the pricing.
The supply of LNG from Mytilineos was agreed after participation in tenders for capacity allocation in 2022. The Greek company has offered to manage the LNG supply on behalf and at the expense of Bulgargaz, providing an equivalent amount on a daily basis, delivered to the terminal in Revythoussa. A slot at the terminal in Greece has also been secured for the quantities of LNG from DEPA.
