The Republic of Srpska (RS) is interested in cooperating with Serbia on potential mineral exploration, Milorad Dodik, the president of RS said, quoted by news agency Srna.
RS is ready to follow the same path which leads to economic prosperity and development, the opening of new factories, and most importantly, the creation of new jobs and the employment of people, Dodik said.
He added that previous research showed that the entity is rich in valuable mineral resources in high demand globally, offering significant development opportunities, and emphasized that RS will continue to explore these resources.
Last week, the Serbian government signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the EU for a strategic partnership in sustainable raw materials, battery value chains, and electric vehicles, following the reinstatement of permits for Rio Tinto’s lithium-borate mine project in the country.
