During the third week of April, solar photovoltaic energy production declined across major European electricity markets compared to the previous week. The most significant drop was recorded in Italy, where production fell by 26%, while Spain saw the smallest decrease at 2.6%.
However, forecasts from AleaSoft Energy Forecasting indicate that solar energy output is expected to rise in Spain and Germany during the week of April 21, although Italy is likely to experience a continued decline.
Wind energy production, on the other hand, saw notable growth in the Iberian Peninsula during the week of April 14. Portugal experienced the highest increase at 182%, followed by Spain with an 87% rise. Italy also reported a 57% increase. In contrast, wind energy production declined by 8.3% in both Germany and France.
Looking ahead, AleaSoft Energy Forecasting predicts that wind energy production will decrease across the main European electricity markets during the fourth week of April, AleaSoft reports.
