In the week of September 8, solar photovoltaic energy production increased in the Iberian markets compared to the previous week. Portugal saw the largest rise at 13 percent, following two weeks of declines. Spain recorded an increase of 2.3 percent, continuing its upward trend for the second consecutive week. During this period, both countries reached record daily solar photovoltaic production for September. Portugal set its record on Tuesday, September 9, with 25 GWh, while Spain reached its peak on Friday, September 12, with 193 GWh.

In contrast, solar photovoltaic generation decreased in the French, German, and Italian markets compared to the first week of September. France experienced the smallest drop at 18 percent, while Italy and Germany both saw declines of 19 percent. Germany accumulated four consecutive weeks of decreasing production.

For the week of September 15, AleaSoft Energy Forecasting predicts increases in solar photovoltaic production in the German, Italian, and Spanish markets.

In the second week of September, wind energy production increased in most major European markets compared to the previous week. Portugal recorded the largest rise at 14 percent, while Italy had the smallest increase at 4.7 percent. Germany continued its upward trend for the second week in a row, with production rising by 12 percent. Meanwhile, wind generation in France and Spain decreased, ending a streak of increases that lasted two weeks in France and three weeks in Spain. France recorded an 11 percent drop, and Spain saw a 25 percent decrease.

For the third week of September, AleaSoft Energy Forecasting expects wind energy production to increase in Germany while declining in France, Italy, Spain, and Portugal, AleaSoft reports.
