Battery warehouses installed in Slovenia, in RTP Okroglo and RTP Pekre as part of the SINCRO.GRID project, have been put into trial operation. The total capacity of the two plants is 10 MW, and the total capacity is 50 MWh.
The SINCRO.GRID project is an investment project of smart grids of European importance in Slovenia and Croatia, in which Slovenian and Croatian transmission system operators, ELES and HOPS, as well as distribution operators of both countries, SODO and HEP ODS, participate.
The purpose of the project SINCRO.GRID – Phase 1 is more efficient use of the existing electricity network in Slovenia and Croatia, which will enable the existing infrastructure to receive larger amounts of electricity from RES and more reliable supply.
The project includes compensation devices, an advanced system for setting work limits and an electricity storage system, and a virtual cross-border control center will be established.
The total value of the project is 88.6 million euros, of which the European Commission provided 40.5 million euros.
