The Slovenian Petrol Group has finalized a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Swiss electricity producer and trader Axpo. This five-year contract will supply electricity to support Petrol’s core operations and ensure a reliable long-term supply for business customers in Slovenia.

Under the agreement, Petrol will guarantee a fixed average electricity price from 2026 to 2030, providing greater cost predictability for its business clients. The contract also allows for the purchase of guarantees of origin for solar, wind or hydropower from any member state of the Association of Issuing Bodies.

Marko Bregar, Petrol’s Executive Director for Electricity Supply and Trading, highlighted that the company supplies around 3 TWh of electricity annually, with approximately 2.1 TWh directed to business customers. As Slovenia’s largest electricity supplier for businesses, Petrol recognizes the importance of long-term contracts in offering stable and predictable energy costs, especially during periods of energy crisis and rising market prices. Additionally, the long-term guaranteed price will help clients significantly reduce their carbon footprint by utilizing guarantees of origin throughout the supply period.
