Net electricity production in Slovenia decreased in July by 8% on a monthly basis, to 1,022 GWh, the statistical office announced.
On an annual basis, electricity production in the country fell by 13%, the statistics office said, citing preliminary data.
The July production of hydroelectric power plants in the country decreased by 52% on the annual level, that is, by 28% on the monthly level, to 216 GWh.
The production of Slovenian thermal power plants amounted to 272 GWh in July, which is 54% more compared to the same period last year, i.e. 4% less on a monthly basis, while the production of the only Slovenian nuclear power plant, Krško, fell by 2% compared to the previous month. , at 490 GWh.
In July, Slovenia imported 809 GWh of electricity and exported 761 GWh. Imports remained unchanged compared to the previous month, while exports decreased by 3%.
On an annual basis, imports increased by 13% and exports fell by 6%.
Nuclear energy had the largest share in the total electricity production in Slovenia in July – 47.9%, followed by thermal energy with 26.6%, hydro energy with 21.1% and solar and wind energy with 4.3%.
