Slovenian HSE’s hydropower plants exceeded the set plans again; Dravske Elektrarne Maribor (DEM) produced 385 GWh of electricity to exceed the plan by 23 %, while Soske Elektrarne Nova Gorica (SENG) produced 124 GWh of electricity to exceed the plan by as much as 52 %. Hidroelektrarne na Spodnji Savi (HESS) produced 46 GWh of electricity in May, which is 80 % more than the planned production.
Altogether, in the first five months of 2021, HPPs of the HSE Group produced a total of 1,838 GWh of electricity, which is 23 % more than planned and 32 % more than in the same period last year.
HSE is the largest producer of electricity from renewable sources in Slovenia: in 2020 we produced as much as 88 % of all electricity from renewable sources in the country. This production is mostly hydro-based, but recently HSE obtained a license for the construction of the largest solar power plant in Slovenia – 3.04 MW Prapretno solar power plant near Hrastnik.
