CEO of German Profine Group Peter Mrosik said that its renewable arm – Profine Energy is looking for opportunities to expand its renewable portfolio in southeastern Europe, adding that it is currently working on solar projects in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Mrosik said that the company is planning to build a 450 MW solar power plant in Serbia accompanied with energy storage system. The power plant will be built in an industrial zone between Belgrade and Novi Sad, covering the area of some 800 hectares. According to him, total investment in the project will be more than 2 billion euros.
Last year, Mrosik met with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and discussed the possibilities of the development of new renewable energy capacities in the country.
Profine, which produces PVC profiles for windows and doors, established Profine Energy in 2022 as a joint venture with German Wirth Group, with the aim of developing solar, wind and biomass projects.
