The Energy Community Regulatory Board (ECRB) has reviewed Serbia’s gas transmission tariff structure and confirmed its compliance with Energy Community regulations. The new methodology, developed by the Serbian Energy Agency (AERS) after public consultations, aligns with the network code on harmonized transmission tariff structures for gas. It employs a capacity-weighted distance reference price methodology, which calculates tariffs based on forecasted capacity and the distance between entry and exit points.
This approach is expected to lower tariffs for users in neighboring Bosnia and Herzegovina, promoting cross-border trade. The next steps include AERS formally adopting and implementing the new methodology, with the updated gas transmission tariffs set to apply from October 2024. The ECRB will continue to monitor and evaluate the implementation of these tariffs in its regular market reports.
