According to Serbian media, renewable energy developer CWP Europe will invest 390 million euros in the construction of 350 MW wind farm near Pancevo in northern province of Vojvodina, and 150 MW solar power plant near Zajecar in eastern Serbia.
According to the Director of CWP Europe Maja Turkovic, the construction of wind farm would cost around 270 million euros, while the solar project would cost some 120 million euros. She added that financing deals for the project should be concluded by mid-2023, so the construction is expected to start in the third quarter of the year.
Last month, local company Solarina, a subsidiary of CWP Europe, is planning to build a 150 MW solar power plant near the city of Zajecar in eastern Serbia. The detailed regulation plan for the power plant, which will consist of three separate units stretching over 413 hectares of land, has been put for public review by the municipal authorities.
Wind farm Vetrozelena should be located on the territory of Banatsko Novo Selo and Dolovo. According to the regulation plan, the wind farm will cover an area of 49.48 square kilometers of agricultural land, which has no protected nature areas. According to estimates, the location enables the installation of up to 60 wind turbines with combined power output of up to 350 MW, with maximum height of 250 meters.
