On 28 June at around 16:00, the boiler plant of unit A1 at coal-fired thermal power plant Nikola Tesla A in Obrenovac broke down, Serbian state-owned power utility EPS announced.
The statement from the company said that a larger amount of steam came out of the plant in a short period of time, which hovered over TENT. There were no injuries and EPS continues the interrupted supply of all consumers with electricity, while the production of electricity is not endangered.
Units A1 and A2 were immediately taken offline. Unit A2 should be reconnected to the network in the evening of 29 June, while unit A1 will remain offline for a prolonged period of time.
