UAE-based Alcazar Energy has announced the acquisition of the Celzijus 1 wind farm project in Serbia from the Austrian company RP Global. The deal, which is expected to be finalized by the end of the year, marks a significant step for Alcazar Energy as it continues to expand its renewable energy portfolio in the region.

The Celzijus 1 wind farm, with an installed capacity of 200 MW, will be located in Banatsko Novo Selo, in the northern Vojvodina province of Serbia. This project is a crucial part of Alcazar Energy’s strategy to invest $600 million in renewable energy assets in Serbia, as the company aims to establish the largest renewable energy platform in Southeast Europe. The broader goal is to reach a total of $1.2 billion in assets, with the projects expected to generate over 1,700 GWh of clean energy annually once fully operational, contributing to Europe’s transition to a greener, more sustainable energy future.

RP Global, which initiated the Celzijus 1 project, will remain a partner in the development alongside Alcazar Energy. The wind farm is valued at around $300 million, and once completed, it is expected to generate enough clean electricity to power over 31,000 households each year. Additionally, the project will help reduce carbon emissions by preventing the release of approximately 426,000 tons of CO2 annually.
