SEE Region: Spot prices of 147-163 euros per MWh on Wednesday

Spot electricity prices in the region for delivery on Wednesday March 23 fell slightly compared to the previous day and ranged from €147 per MWh to €163 per MWh.

The lowest day-ahead electricity price in the region on Wednesday was recorded in Serbia – 147.36 euros per MWh, which is about 4 percent less than on Tuesday. On Monday, the spot price was 120.7 euros per MWh.

The Slovenian and Croatian markets were flat in most intervals on Wednesday, with an average price of 148.7 euros per MWh and 148.8 euros per MWh, respectively. That’s about the same as Tuesday – around 150 euros per MWh in both markets, but significantly higher than on Wednesday (127-130 euros per MWh).

On the Hungarian, Romanian and Bulgarian markets, the day-ahead price on Wednesday is around 149 euros per MWh, compared to 150 euros per MWh on Tuesday. On Monday, the Bulgarian and Romanian price was 115.7 euros per MWh, and the Hungarian price was 123.5 euros per MWh.

At 162.78 euros per MWh, the Greek market is once again the most expensive in the region, but also in Europe. It is also the only market that records an increase in price compared to the previous day. The Greek market was the most expensive on the continent both on Tuesday (158.4 euros per MWh) and on Monday (148.6 euros per MWh).
