The projects of the reversible hydropower power plant and the solar power plant on Lake Bileć were agreed at a meeting of the Minister of Energy and Mining, Saša Mujović, and the director of “Elektroprivreda Republika Srpska”, Luka Petrović.
Mujović said that compensation for submerged land in Montenegrin territory was also discussed.
“I hope for a very high-quality, win-win solution for Montenegro so that we end this conversation with great optimism,” Mujović pointed out and announced a continuation already on Friday when the operational work teams will move on to the concrete solution of certain tasks.
Petrović agrees that the issue of submerged land in the territory of the municipality of Nikšić, where Bileć Lake is located, should be regulated.
“But we also need to define and permanently solve the water supply of Herceg Novi, which also comes from the Trebišnjica river, and in a way we think that we can make it so that all parties are satisfied,” Petrović pointed out after the meeting.
The meeting is a continuation of the talks aimed at solving the complexity of the Bileć Lake issue, which was initiated by Mujović.
The first concrete result is the return of compensation for submerged land for the Municipality of Nikšić, which was not paid for the previous 30 years, Vijesti reports.
