The construction of a gas interconnection between Hungary and Slovenia has been agreed upon, Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto announced. He added that the interconnector will have an annual capacity of 440 million cubic meters and will pave the way for deliveries through the Italian-Slovenian-Hungarian gas corridor. The agreement will be formally signed in Budapest at the beginning of October.
Slovenia is the only neighbouring country with which Hungary does not yet have a gas interconnector. Szijjarto said that the parties have reached a common agreement on fundamental issues regarding the Hungarian-Serbian-Slovenian electricity exchange, opening the path for its initiation at the beginning of next year.
