All countries in Southeast Europe recorded lower average weekly spot prices in the third week of May (May 15-21) compared to the previous week. They were below the threshold of 103 euros per MWh.
Average weekly prices in the SEE region ranged between 81 and 103 euros per MWh, with wholesale electricity prices being the lowest in Romania and Bulgaria, with weekly averages of 80.6 euros per MWh and 80.9 euros per MWh, respectively.
In Slovenia, the spot price was 80 euros per MWh, while in Serbia and Croatia, the average weekly price was around 81 euros per MWh. In Hungary, the weekly average was 84.4 euros per MWh.
The Italian market was the most expensive country in Europe at 103.2 euros per MWh on average in the third week of May, despite a 14% drop compared to the previous week. It is followed by Greece, which recorded a price drop of 18% to 102 euros per MWh.
