Solar power plant located near Frasinet in southern Romania has entered trial operation and is expected to be officially commissioned in January 2023.
It is going to be the second largest solar power plant in Romania in operation, but for a very short time, because many solar project with higher capacity are nearing completion. Currently, the largest solar power plant in operation in Romania has installed capacity of 56 MW and is located near Ciuperceni in Satu Mare county.
The new solar power plant has been built under a turnkey contract by Sunnerg, Italian company founded in 2017, which is active in renewable energy sector in Italy, Romania, United Kingdom, Spain, Portugal and Ukraine.
In Romania, Sunnerg is involved in projects with a total installed capacity of 122 MW.
