After completion of the planned annual maintenance which started on 9 May, Romanian electricity producer Nuclearelectrica, the operator of the country’s sole nuclear power plant Cernavoda, announced that the unit 2 was successfully reconnected to the network on 14 June.
During the planned outage, activities from the following programs were carried out: preventive and corrective maintenance program, inspections program, mandatory testing program during planned outages and project changes implementation program.
NPP Cernavoda provides about 18 % of the national electricity consumption. It has two reactors with installed capacity of 700 MW each.
