Rompetrol Rafinare reported strong operational and financial performance in the first half of 2025, driven by higher feedstock processing and increased fuel sales both domestically and internationally. The company continued to support fuel security in Romania and the wider Black Sea region.

Combined crude and feedstock processing at the Petromidia and Vega refineries reached approximately 2.97 million tons, a 62% rise compared to the same period in 2024, when both sites underwent scheduled maintenance. Production of transport fuels increased 65% to 2.28 million tons, resulting in a 24% growth in domestic deliveries and nearly threefold expansion in exports.

Higher net refining margins, along with measures to improve energy efficiency, reduce process losses, ensure stable feedstock supply, and optimize unit operations and product yields, contributed to a strong financial rebound. Consolidated gross revenues rose 32% year-on-year to around 2.8 billion dollars, while EBITDA jumped 73% to 77.6 million dollars. The company’s consolidated net loss narrowed to 53.2 million dollars in the first half of 2025, down from 75.2 million in the same period last year.

During the first six months, Rompetrol Rafinare contributed over 771 million dollars to Romania’s state budget. The company operates KMG International’s two Romanian refineries: Petromidia Navodari, the country’s largest and most complex facility, and Vega Ploiești, Romania’s only producer of bitumen and hexane, along with the nation’s sole petrochemicals unit, maintaining high standards in the domestic refining sector.
