Hidroelectrica completed the reconstruction of unit 2 of the underground hydropower plant Tismana. The reconstruction contract, worth 4 million euros, included works on the automation and control facilities, auxiliary facilities, and 0.4 kV alternating current supply and distribution facilities.
CEO Bogdan Badea said that, by carrying out the modernization and rehabilitation works of the equipment, Hidroelectrica aims to implement state-of-the-art technological solutions. Hidroelectrica is interested in introducing automation where possible so that its facilities can be operated with as little human intervention as possible. It is an effort that Hidroelectrica makes as part of the commitment it has assumed to continuously modernize the facilities it has in its portfolio.
HPP Tismana Underground is the largest facility within the Cerna-Motru-Tismana hydropower complex. The plant uses water from the Motru reservoir, which has a useful volume of 3.5 million cubic meters through 8,580 meters long pipeline, and from the Clocotis lake, with a useful volume of 1.8 million cubic meters.
