Romania: PPC Renewables expands Deleni wind farm with 85 MW second phase

PPC Renewables Romania has launched the second stage of construction at the Deleni wind farm in Vaslui County, further strengthening its position as the largest wind energy project in the Moldova region. The new phase will add 85 MW of capacity through the installation of 14 wind turbines, each rated at 6.1 MW. Once completed, the project’s total installed capacity will exceed 225 MW.

This expansion represents a major milestone in PPC Renewables Romania’s long-term investment strategy to boost green energy production and address the electricity generation gap in northern Romania. The first phase of the Deleni wind farm, with 140 MW of capacity, is already in advanced construction, while the second phase reinforces the company’s role in diversifying the national energy mix.

The Deleni project forms part of PPC Renewables Romania’s broader program to grow its renewable energy portfolio, which now surpasses 1.3 GW across wind, solar, and energy storage developments. Upon completion of both Deleni phases, the company’s total installed renewable capacity will exceed 1.5 GW, cementing its position as Romania’s largest private renewable energy producer.

Parent company PPC Group continues to accelerate renewable energy expansion across Greece, Romania, Italy, and Bulgaria. Its total installed renewable capacity increased from 4.7 GW in early 2024 to 6.3 GW by mid-2025. The group is currently developing or preparing an additional 3.7 GW of renewable projects and aims to reach 11.8 GW of installed capacity by 2027.
