Country Manager of Dutch-based solar developer Photon Energy Lauru Badita said that the company will commission its first projects in Romania – solar power plants with combined installed capacity of 35 MW, during 2022.
At the end of 2021, the company had a portfolio of solar projects of almost 218 MW in different stages of development in Romania. The volume has increased strongly compared to the level of 105.2 MW at the end of 2020. Almost 80 % of the capacity within Romanian portfolio is already in development: 5.5% is in advanced development and 74 % is in preliminary development.
Badita said that investors within the second wave of renewables need legislative security from the Romanian state.
Photon Energy’s business model relies on the development of photovoltaic project, majority of which will be sold to third parties upon completion. At the end of September, the company had in its portfolio 86 solar power plants in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Australia, totaling an installed capacity of 89.3 MW.
