OMV Petrom signed an agreement on the purchase of natural gas with Turkish pipeline operator BOTAS. The agreement is valid for 18 months and it envisages that BOTAS will supply up to 4 million cubic meters of gas per day to OMV Petrom.
An OMV Petrom official said that, through the contract, the company ensures access to a new source of natural gas for Romania and contributes to the consolidation of the country’s energy supply. In addition, the memorandum will enable the diversification of LNG access to Romania.
The gas is to be delivered outside Turkey, at the Malkoclar/Strandja point. At the same time, the two companies will expand their cooperation through a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of LNG.
