Electricity producer Nuclearelectrica, the operator of Romania’s sole nuclear power plant Cernavoda, said that it has recorded a net profit in the amount of 78.5 million euros in the first half of 2021, which is by 12.3 % higher compared to the same period last year.
The operational result (EBIT) has registered an increase of 17.1 %, while EBITDA recorded an increase of 9.9 % compared to the same period of last year. The rise in operating results follows the increase of operating revenues by 16.9 %, influenced by the increase by 15.7 % of the revenues from the sale of electricity.
The volume of electricity sold on the regulated market in the first six months of the year amounted to 5,292,212 MWh, which is 8.4 % more than planned, but 4.6 % less than the quantity sold in the first half of 2020.
The revenues from electricity sales in H1 2021 amounted to 273 million euros, which is 5.4 % higher than planned revenues in the first half of the year and 15.6 % higher than the results from H1 2020.
