Israeli renewables developer Nofar Energy has acquired Aviv Renewable Investment, a Romanian company working on a 160 MW solar power plant in Giurgiu County, southern Romania. This project is located next to a previously acquired solar power plant from the same seller. The financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.

In Romania, Nofar Energy is also developing additional solar projects in the Iepuresti and Ghimpati communes, also within Giurgiu County. Recently, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), in collaboration with Austrian Raiffeisen Bank International, announced a 110 million euro financing package to support the construction and operation of these solar power plants.

Since entering the Romanian market in 2021, Nofar Energy has become a significant player in the local solar sector, with a portfolio totaling 955 MW in both operation and development.
