Natural gas suppliers in Romania who are obliged to store gas in storage depots for the winter season have exceeded their obligations for this year, said National Authority for Energy Regulation (ANRE).
The statement from ANRE said that in accordance with the provisions of the Methodology regarding the annual determination of the level of the minimum natural gas reserves for the winter season 2020-2021 for the holders of natural gas supply licenses, it was set at a level of 1.9 billion cubic meters. From the data obtained by ANRE, on 15 October, the suppliers had 2.78 billion cubic meters in the underground natural gas storage depots, the storage obligation being fulfilled in a percentage of 141 %.
All suppliers are responsible for ensuring the natural gas sources from domestic production, storage and import, and the non-fulfillment of the obligation for the quantities of natural gas necessary to ensure the consumption of its customers is sanctioned with a fine between 5 and 10 % of annual turnover.
