German renewable developer ib vogt has signed a virtual power purchase agreement (vPPA) for a 70 MW solar plant in northwest Romania. The deal secures output for a major US-based technology company with investment-grade credentials, though the buyer was not named.

The facility, expected to generate about 110 GWh annually, will use bifacial panels and single-axis tracking, with provisions for future battery storage. ib vogt will oversee engineering, procurement, construction, and long-term operations.

The agreement marks a significant step for the company in Romania, underscoring both the country’s renewable energy growth and rising European demand for low-carbon power.
