GE Vernova has signed an agreement with Greenvolt International Power to supply wind turbines for the 252 MW Ialomita wind farm in southeastern Romania.

The order, confirmed in the third quarter of 2025, includes the delivery, installation, and commissioning of 42 onshore turbines from GE Vernova’s 6.1 MW–158m series. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2026.

Greenvolt International Power, part of Portugal’s Greenvolt Group and backed by KKR & Co, will manage the development of the wind farm. The project reflects Greenvolt’s ongoing expansion in Eastern Europe and strengthens its renewable energy portfolio.

GE Vernova emphasized that the Ialomita project demonstrates growing demand for its high-capacity turbine technology in European markets and supports the company’s strategy of providing scalable onshore solutions. Globally, GE Vernova’s onshore wind operations encompass around 57,000 turbines, totaling nearly 120 GW of installed capacity. The Romanian project adds to this footprint and underscores the company’s role in advancing Europe’s renewable energy transition.
