Minority shareholder of Hidroelectrica, Romania’s largest electricity producer and largest state-owned company, the Proprietate Fund, estimated the company’s value at 50 billion levs (10 billion euros) in the latest evaluation report, published on April 15th on the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
The FP thus revised the above-estimated value of the state-controlled company by 5 billion levs (1 billion euros) compared to the previous estimate published in February 2022.
The value estimate of Hidroelectrica, published by FP based on KPMG’s budget, increased by 10% in just two months.
Meanwhile, the energy ministry has approved the company’s entry into the capital market.
FP seeks to sell part or all of its 20% stake in Hidroelectrica. FP prefers double listing, but the government, as the main shareholder, has so far not supported this option.
The company’s net profit in 2021 amounted to 650 million euros.
