Romanian state-owned coal-based electricity producer Energy Complex (EC) Oltenia is hiring personnel under contracts for a pre-determined period in order to extract more coal and increase its electricity production.
The statement from the company said that in order to increase the production of electricity, it will employ a number of 600 workers for positions of locksmiths, electricians and welders to partake mining activities, for a determined period until 31 December 2022. According to reports, some 1,040 candidates have already submitted their applications.
Earlier this month, EC Oltenia said it would bring online a 300 MW unit held under conservation.
EC Oltenia is one of the largest electricity producers in Romania, with an installed capacity of about 3,000 MW in four thermal power plants: Rovinari, Turceni, Isalnita and Craiova 2. The coal is supplied from open pit coalmines owned by the company.
