Photon Energy is planning to loan up to 15 million euros from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to complete its solar projects with a total capacity of 30 MW in Romania.
Photon Energy has an operational portfolio of 123.4 MW in small and medium-sized solar power plants in Romania, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, and Australia.
EBRD is considering granting the loan as part of the EBRD InvestEU initiative for sustainable transition. The credit will be used to finalize the construction of a portfolio of six solar projects in Romania (an average of 5 MW per project, totalling 30 MW), as well as to support the expansion of its subsidiary, Lerta, the operator ofa virtual power plant (VPP).
